Glórias a Deus!

Estaremos a postos para ajudar quem for preciso.

August 22th and 23th – Blessing and Tension in the air

Blessing
We have been living indescribable days, with God rescuing lives from a pit of mud and destruction, LITERALLY! One of the woman that joined our group is a voluntary nurse in the clinic that our team is helping to build, and yesterday faced an impressive story: a woman went to use the “bathroom” (a latrine) when heard a cry, and when she looked down, she saw a newborn baby in the middle of the waste. Quickly she took the baby from that place, and took it to the clinic. Later, it was found out that the baby was born on that same place, on Sunday. The baby was found on Wednesday” She is fine, just has a skin infection because of the waste that were touching it. Glory to God!
The stories that we heard Day after Day surprise us and take us to believe each Day more that the Lord has a perfect plan in the lives of all of us! Do not run away from your call!
Today some of the members of our team went to meet STEP (Theological Seminary of Port au Prince). The brothers Evaldo and Astrit, with Pr Roberto and Pr Brandalize had an interview with Pr Jean Dorlus, and important steps about the partnership to be realized with STEP were made. It was wonderful to see God’s hand in every detail.
Pr Brandalize could meet the seminarian that will be helped by IEL Palotina, and we were thrilled with the story of dedication of the youth (but this is story for another post.

         Tension
A climate of tension in the air is being felt by all of us here. The construction work in the clinic and in the orphanage was intensified today, so that we can help them get prepared for the hurricane that is coming tomorrow. The forecast is that the winds start at 2pm (3pm in Brazil) and peak will be around 6pm and 7pm. Probably we will be without electricity and internet here, what is already common, because any little rain now knocks networks. So, please: do not stay worried if you don’t receive new soon.
The information that we received is that it will be of low intensity, and it will pass near the place that we are, not exactly on top of it (the hurricane eye). The house where we are is safe, and will certainly resist to the winds without problem, our biggest preoccupation is with the people who still lives in tends.
To predict disasters in Haiti to avoid material damage and fatalities is not the strong point in here. We saw many tend that are stuck on the edge of the hills that inevitably will be felled if the edges of the Hurricane pass by there. We are ready to help anyone who needs.
Today we met at the airport some Brazilian militaries (one of them a brother in Christ), that put us abreast of the situation, and told us that they are already on the places that offer more damage! He also asked that we pray for the Lord to take care of them, and to protect the people: many of them don’t want to leave the risk area.
We’re all fine, some fevers passing, but everyone got better. We stand in the porpoise to which the Lord called us.
May God bless us! A huge hug.
